Inspired by the traditional Chinese principles of Yin and Yang, the unusual design for this building arose from the need of providing washroom and toilet facilities for farmworkers. Guided by the owner’s vision, the symbolism of balance and complementary uses was adopted both literally and figuratively into the planning of the two spaces, featuring contrasting colours, patterns and textures.
