The city of Soran is situated in an area close to Mosul, where freedom fighters made their final stand against ISIS. Due to the growing refugee crisis in Iraq, the area experienced a large population growth with limited resources available for growing communities. Initiated by the Love Does Organization, the hospital was designed to provide medical care for young girls who were kidnapped and forced to be the wives and sexual slaves of ISIS, as well as families displaced from their homes. Often this is the first medical care patients have been able to receive in years.

Completed in 2018, funds were raised for this project in 1 day after seeing the plans and renderings with generous donors in British Columbia giving a staggering $1.5 million to build the hospital.
