LOUGHEED

2016 - 2019

Located along Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam, the project involved an extensive renovation and addition of two glass atriums to an existing commercial building. To create visual interest and intrigue, a 10’ unsupported stair was introduced to provide a new connection to the upper floor level.

Visually, the building white stucco walls, black steel fascias and innovative glass give the building a rare simplicity in the area. Along the North façade facing Lougheed Highway, the atrium boasts 22’ tall glass mullions supporting the exterior curtain wall, allowing light and views into the space. To help reduce solar heat gain and protect the façade from driving rain, large roof overhangs were added which also serve to shelter the entrances from the parking lot.
